Slipping on my vans and zipping up my hoodie I pulled the hood up over my head. Walking to my window I slowly pushes it open popping the screen out. Climbing onto the windowsill I stopped looking down at the ground about ten feet down. Taking in a quick breath I reached down and grabbed my backpack before jumping. Hitting the ground I quickly jumped up dusting my skinny jeans off. Glancing over my shoulder I shook my head before walking off down the road.

Screw my parents they never cared, and never will, so what’s the point in me staying here. Oh yeah that’s right, there isn’t. Drunken yelling dad and drugged up moms, why did I put up with this for so long. I mean I’m freaking 17 for Christ’s sake! I’m getting out of this hellhole while there is still time, and while I’m still alive.

I walked down the middle of the street heading toward the park. Looking at my arms I pulled my sleeves down to cover my bruises. I’m not going to take anyone’s shit anymore, I’m on my own now. It was well past midnight and I finally knew my parents were sleeping, well in their case passed out. I knew I had a good chunk of time to get as far away as possible and that’s just what I planned on doing. Looking back once again down the street at my dark house.

“Never again.” I spoke before turning the corner, now I was finally starting a new chapter in my life, this one was way to long and it was getting old fast.

About 5 blocks later I was walking through the park. I walked slowly listening to the bark chips crunch beneath my vans. Breathing in and out slowly I savored every breath. The cool crisp night, dark sky hung over my head as I came to the big oak tree at the edge of the park. Sitting down I leaned my back against the tree I pulled my hood down over my eyes not caring to look around. I will sit here for a minute before starting through the woods, maybe when it gets a little brighter out. Suddenly a voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Now what is a girl doing alone at the park at this time?” The voice rang out smoothly. Glancing up I saw a boy about my age wearing dark jeans and a black short sleeve shirt standing in front of me.

“I could ask you the same thing.” I mumbled returning my gaze to the ground in front of me. Chuckling slightly he continued to speak.

“Running away are we?” He questioned motioning to my backpack next to me.

“Maybe, what’s it to ya?” I asked looking up at him, I was getting slightly annoyed that this guy was still here talking to me.

“No reason, what would your reason be for running away? I’m Aiden by the way.” He said taking a seat in front of me.

“You wouldn’t care even if I told you, and honestly I don’t feel like telling you. I’m Rizzo.” I spoke looking Aiden up and down from underneath my hood.

“Well Rizzo I would love to see that pretty little face you have.” He said grinning slightly. Pulling my hood down I let my black hair fall slightly over my shoulders, watching his expression. He kept an emotionless face as he studies me from head to foot. His dark eyes ran over my body again and again, they seemed to have this look of desire or thirst for something more than what he was seeing.

“Well Aiden it was nice meeting you but I got to go now.” Standing up I slung my backpack over one shoulder before pulling my hood back up over my head.

“Well it as nice meeting you, but why you leaving so soon we haven’t even got to the good part yet.” He spoke suddenly standing in front of me.

“Well whatever you were think about, it ain’t going to happen, so you are just wasting your time.” I spat trying to step around him but he moved in sync with me not letting me pass.

“Feisty are we? I always loved a challenge, makes everything even better” He spoke flashing a smile.

“Whatever, just because I’m a girl doesn’t mean I can’t kick your ass.” I said behind clenched teeth. Stepping around him a started off toward the road again. Hearing a chuckle from behind me I started to spin around but before I could I felt a sharp pain in my head. My hand flew up to my head as I started to fall to the ground, but I never hit the ground. I landed in a pair of strong arms.

“Not so fast Rizzo, its just getting good.” He said laughing, and that’s the last thing I head before everything went black.
